March 31, 2013…RESURRECTION Sunday 2013…I was involved in an accident that probably should’ve killed me. Car was totaled…could’ve easily have gone over the railing on the freeway…but I walked away with a few a bruises and a scratch.
To most this would probably mean nothing, but here’s the thing…1 year and a half earlier I was involved in another horrific accident…this accident my car was t-boned on the DRIVER’S SIDE. My door was situated under the steering wheel…the impact was so hard that a cup that was in the cupholder, wasn’t found (inside or outside the car)…
Maybe you don’t see the significance in any of this…or maybe it’s just a coincidence to you…but to me it was an eye opener to see and LIVE my greater purpose versus just existing. I don’t know about you, but there have been times when I’ve questioned my God-given abilities, my purpose, my faith…
Resurrection Sunday 2013 changed it ALL…I truly saw God in a completely different light…I began to truly seek after my purpose…what I didn’t know was that I had been walking toward (in) it all along…
Oftentimes, we walk around asking “Why ME?”…(of course, we don’t say it out loud, we only think it)…”Why am I dealing with this? Why is God punishing me? Why? Just Why?”…but I’ve come to realize we’re asking the wrong questions: “What is it You (God) need me to get from this?, Where are You guiding me to?”, etc….Everything in life is either God-sent or God allowed, so understand that circumstances, situations, whether tragic or joyous are all a part of God’s plan for your life…
Would I have been able to walk in my purpose without my testimonies? Possibly, but it probably would’ve taken me A LOT longer to get here…and I wouldn’t be as adamant about helping someone else. He told Prophet Jeremiah:
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5
God knows what it takes to get us where He needs us…it may take some hurt, some pain, some sleepless nights, and some dreadful days, but I believe when we FINALLY open our SPIRITUAL eyes those nights of pacing the floor will ALL be worth it…
2 Corinthians 12:9 tells us: His grace is sufficient, for His strength is made PERFECT in our weakness…That alone tells me we’re NEVER alone, if we take the time to Trust Him, Believe Him, and Depend on Him…
